I was certified to give CPR and my card I got issued from the American Red Cross is about to expire. Where can I go to renew my certification?Will I have to go through the whole written test and doing a test on a dummy? How much will is cost for me to get recertified for CPR? My card is going to expire at the 1st of the month. Please help me. Or can I wait to get recertified when I attend nursing school?

yeah, you can be re-certified in nursing school...it will cost you around $30 (it does in Iowa)...you will not have to do the whole written test unless it expires, it depends when you attend nursing school, or if you have a YMCA, go there.
you can be recertified once in nursing school bc the certification u prob have isnt for healthcare providers anyway-

Unless you need the CPR certification for employment purposes, I would wait until you started nursing school. You can get recertified there.
as long as you aren't a lifeguard, noone is going to say "hey, you, you aren't certified, stop saving that life"
Not sure about nursing school but you can call the red cross or your local fire department for a recert class.

Anytime you recert for cpr you have to take the test an do cpr on a dummy, If you are going to have to take it in nursing school just wait till then you dont have to be certified in cpr to perform cpr on someone. If you are not certified you are covered under the good Samaritan act
You can call the American Red Cross and find a location near you for an upcoming recertification class. You shouldn't have to take the entire class over, you should just have to recertify. This is a much shorter class and usually quite cheaper. I would do it now. If you wait until you are in nursing school (if it is a while off) you will have to take the entire course again. It is easier to recertify.
What you do is you go to www.cprtoday.com , you can take it onlineand it will also print it out for you if you dont have time to wait for it in the mail.. All you have to do is put it on a credit/debit card, i believe it cost only 29.95 ...
