When they draw blood .. do u know exactly what they test for??? Please be very detailed!
Answer:
they'll do a cbc to check different blood component levels, white blood cell, red blood cell count, lymphocytes, leukocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils. probably cholesterol, hdl, ldl, potassium, sodium, bun/creat, thyroid, glucose level. I f you want something tested specifically discuss it with your doctor.
If it's for a routine physical check up your blood is being tested for anemia deficiency, liver function, vitamin deficiency, thyroid function. You have the right to ask your doctor for what exactly is he testing your blood for. I always do.
They draw it for your red and white blood cells count. If they are out of the normal range, the doctor has to take that into consideration. Depending on which ones, there may not be enough cells fighting diseases or something and it is just another way to make sure you are healthy.
