Does anyone else dread it when you're at the doctors and she/he gets out the stethoscope? I do and it's always freezing, why is that?! why can't they warm it!

its freezing because its metal in an airconditioned environment. Ask your doc to warm it up, they'll usually breath on it or hold it between their hands to ease the chill. XP
just ask them to my doctor holds it in her hands and warms it first
Some doctors warm the stethoscope in their hands but others don't. Regardless, it's far better than when they put on the rubber gloves.
I hate that. I thought I was the only one who was annoyed by that! It's a small world. It is always freezing. However, I noticed that my new doctory rubs his hand on it and warms it up first. The next time you go you should ask your doctor to do the same. :)
yah really it just about makes your heart stop when they touch you with that thing. it makes you want to breath mor shallow and the kepp jabbing it all around and asking you to breathe. Scarry.

Does the cold stethoscope make you nervous or is it being at the doctor's office? I see a lot people have anxiety just being in the room, and anything that I do freaks them out.
Just like other people's advice, ask your doc to warm up the steth and ask him/her what s/he's listenting to. That can possible ease your mind...hopefully
No, I do not dread it...and I always warm my stethoscope with my hands when it is cold!
