have you had any success with the ALLI pill? how long have u been taking it, have u had any side effects? also i cant find in the book how long before or after you take the pill when u eat?? thanks
Answer:
Didn't this just become available? If so no one would have long term results yet.
I've looked into it and won't be taking it. The part about loose, uncontrolled , oily stools and gas scared me off. They say that will happen if you take in to much fat at a meal.
yes i took it when it whas the stronge drung pretty much it was 2 pills in one you take it with the meal some will tell you 15 min b4 a meal eather is a good way just make sure you drink a full glass of water so that it will work! but rember you have to use it with diet and exersize and not to eat over 15 grams of fat per meal when you take it. if you eat too much you will pay (via the potty) its just a tool to help you and not ment for some one to take it as an excuse to eat high fatty food. so yes it does work amazingly with your help!
good luck!
I have not had any personal experience with the drug, but what I have heard (from my sister in law who is a nurse) is that there are some horrendous side effects to taking the drug, such as: extreme and uncontrollable gas; uncontrollable oily anal discharge-severe enought that some people have had to wear a Depends undergarmet; stomach cramps and headaches.
Before you start a weight loss program involving diet pills, you should consult with your family physician and discuss the side effects with him and how they will affect you.
umm well, no one has taken it long term yet..
b/c it just became available
BUT
it is very similar to an older perscription product called Xenical
so look up some info on that.
but remember.
just b/c you are taking a pill doesnt mean you will see results. you've gotta eat the right kind of good healthy foods and exercise regularly.
there is no magic pill!
and yes there are several side effects..
the most unappealling "oily stools" and anal leakage.
check out www.myalli.com for more details on the product.
and as always check with your trusted health care professional for advice before starting this or any medication.
good luck
I've never tried. The side effects would be embarrassing and to avoid them you have to go on a diet; so why not just talk to a nutritionist and exercise.
"The most common treatment effects come from eating meals with too much fat while using Alli capsules. Undigested fat cannot be absorbed and passes through the body naturally. The excess fat is not harmful. In fact, you may recognize it in the toilet as something that looks like the oil on top of a pizza.
The treatment effects may include gas with oily spotting, loose stools, and more frequent stools that may be hard to control. Eating a low-fat diet with 15 grams of fat per meal on average can lower the chance of experiencing these treatment effects."(myalli.com)
Start on your off days from work so that you can deal and know how to deal with the loose bowels. Once you start work, bring extra underwear and a cleaning cloth.
Alli info:
Without Alli, if you follow their diet directions and exercise, you will lose weight.
They say that you can lose 50% more than the regular dieter. The reason they are allowed to say this is because people who dieted with Alli lost 5 pounds over several months and the people without using alli lost 2.5 pounds which is a 50% difference. According to Alli, you have to be commented to the following before starting:
- I am willing to do the hard work to LOSE WEIGHT GRADUALLY.
-I am committed to following a REDUCED-CALORIE, LOW-FAT DIET. (an average of 15 grams of fat per meal)
-I understand that if I take Alli with a meal containing too much fat, I may get TREATMENT EFFECTS, such as loose or more frequent stools, an urgent need to go to the bathroom, or gas with an oily discharge.
-I am committed to eating SMALLER PORTIONS.
-I am committed to making the time to be more PHYSICALL ACTIVE.
-I will READ AND FOLLOW the Alli label.
According to Alli, "If you agree with all 6 statements above, you may be ready for Alli. If you disagree with any statement, learn more at myalli.com
Best of luck.
My friend tried it for several days and is off already because of the oily bowel discharge and because she still could not control her eating intake.
Because Alli works on the digestive system and not the brain (telling you that you are full) she had a hard time sticking with it like any other diet.
Last according to the report, after discontinuing Alli, the patients put the weight back on.
Best of luck !
